ROLE of the POSITION
The Research Librarian / Assistant Professor is part of a team of lawyer-librarians who support student learning and faculty scholarship at the William S. Boyd School of Law and who otherwise contribute to the mission of the Law School in a variety of ways. All lawyer-librarians work closely with individual faculty members on scholarly research and interact with law students, undergraduate and graduate students, and members of the public.
Members of the law library faculty are expected to engage in substantive research, work closely with law faculty members, participate in instructional and outreach activities, provide reference assistance to students and other visitors, and contribute to the many activities undertaken at the Law School. Research Librarians are supported in their work by law student research assistants employed by the Law Library. Over time and as interests and needs are assessed, librarians take responsibility for particular aspects of Library services. We encourage initiative and innovation among Library faculty and staff; we encourage independence in developing projects; and we expect professionals to contribute to the mission of the Law School and the Law Library on a variety of levels. The Law Library is committed to being inclusive and open and to supporting the success of all students.
This is a tenure-track Law Library faculty position.
