Job Summary
 

The Research Liaison provides project management and administrative support for research across the full grant/contract lifecycle in close collaboration with the Office of Research. Administers programs and day-to-day project management related to grant management, grant preparation, financial activities, regulatory affairs submissions, quality assurance and data management. Acts as the point of contact for faculty and ensures timely processing of grant proposals and awards and managing of awards. Establishes systems and procedures for smooth coordination of the research activities within the assigned College(s).


Responsibilities
 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Maintain strong communications and working relationships with various components of the Office of Research, especially Sponsored Programs Administration, Research Development & Strategic Initiatives, and Research Compliance, as well as other relevant units, including, but not limited to Grants Accounting, Legal Services and Purchasing
2. Develop strong working relationships with researchers, stakeholders, and process owners within various campus units 
3. Act as the gatekeeper between faculty and administration and ensure the timely processing of grant and award-related activities
4. Monitor incoming requests for assistance from researchers and ensure timely responses
5. Support post-award and human resources activities by coordinating and facilitating timely award reporting, expenditure tracking and monitoring, coordinating employment paperwork, and award closeout with relevant units
6. Participate in pre-award activities through coordinating and facilitating timely budget development, application tracking data management, and proposal submission to the Office of Research
7. Serve as liaison between external sites, the college, and the Office of Research on processes related to proposal development and subaward management
8. Manage the request workflow, including related technology solutions


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education or equivalent experience
Required Experience
Three (3) years of related work experience in project management within a university, non-profit, or academic medical center setting.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Preferred Experience
Experience with sponsored programs regulations, and non-federal sponsor guidelines
Experience with sponsored program management 
Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proven interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals


Proposed Salary
 

The budgeted salary range is $60,920 to $75,000.  Offers are based on relevant experience.

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
