Description
The Garcia Molecular Genetics Research laboratory is looking for a Laboratory Technician to provide technical support, perform directed basic science research, and train and supervise undergraduate in research. The laboratory, located at the University of New England (UNE) invites applicants for a research laboratory technician to assist with research in the area of molecular genetics.

Responsibilities
The technician will assist in research relevant to Dr. Garcia’s research. This will include preparing experimental materials, reagents and buffers; performing experiments; collecting, recording, and maintaining records of experimental results and complete and accurate logs of methodological details. The technician will perform data analysis and prepare presentations.
In addition, the technician will perform administrative duties overseeing the lab (e.g., inventory and orders of laboratory supplies; chemical hygiene, upkeep of equipment) and will train undergraduate students as needed.
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, or a related field is required. Candidate with prior laboratory experience and/or undergraduate research experience are preferred.
