Research Associate-Biomedical Sciences (LT)

Under general supervision, provides a wide variety of moderately complex laboratory testing and technical lab support for a research facility.  Requires knowledge of the processes/procedures in testing, documenting experiments, maintaining laboratory notebook and analyzing data.

More specifically, this role will support a Primary Investigator in the Department of Biomedical Sciences.  Selected individual must be detail-oriented person and will be responsible for routine lab work, mainly animal breeding and genotyping; and be involved in lab management, including ordering and receiving, inventory tracking and record keeping. Ideal applicant is expected to have a bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry or related science subject. Previous animal work experience or biochemistry experiment experience is a plus, but we will provide adequate training in variety of cutting-edge lab techniques and data analysis to fully support personal career development.

This position is 100% grant funded. 

This position will work Monday to Friday, depending upon research needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.  
 

 


Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry or related science subject required;
2-4 year's research lab experience; previous animal work experience or biochemistry experiment experience is preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 
Animal work experience or biochemistry experiment experience is preferred;
Understanding of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment; 
Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues; 
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
Detail oriented;
Analytical skills;
Strong work ethic, 
Strong oral and written and communication skill;
Ability to work independently as well as be a part of a small team; 
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
