Summary:

The lab of Dr. E. Jeffrey North, in the Department of Pharmacy Sciences at Creighton University, is looking for a qualified and highly motivated research technician in the field of synthetic organic/medicinal chemistry.  The North lab is heavily involved in the discovery of novel drug leads with activity against drug-resistant bacterial infections.  The primary duties for the successful candidate will involve the design and synthesis of novel antimicrobial agents and chemical probes for a funded research project. The North Lab is committed to diversity and inclusion in the Jesuit tradition and maintaining a robust diversity plan including ensuring a collaborative, comfortable, productive, and fun research environment.  Creighton University is a private Jesuit, Catholic coeducational urban university that encourages applications from qualified individuals of all backgrounds who believe they can contribute to the distinctive educational traditions of the University.  


Qualifications:

The successful applicants should have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: 

Understanding of research methods, laboratory techniques, and care of laboratory equipment;

Ability to interpret data, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues;

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;

Detail oriented;

Analytical skills;

Strong work ethic, excellent written and communication skills, and the ability to work independently;

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays depending upon research needs
