Summary

The Department of Cell & Developmental Biology is seeking a full-time Research Laboratory Technician Associate in a lab that studies circadian clocks, sleep and metabolism using Drosophila as a model system.

Responsibilities*

The candidate will assume responsibilities for performing routine lab work and data analysis, including Drosophila handling, fluorescence microscopy, live imaging, imaging analysis, high-throughput genome sequencing techniques. 

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: recording and analyzing data under the guidance of the PI, graduate student or postdoctoral fellow. Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills contributing to a strong team environment are required.

Desired Qualifications*
  • Experience in Drosophila handling and confocal microscopy is desired, but not required. 
  • Candidates who have just completed their undergraduate degree and want to work in a lab for a few years before applying to graduate school are preferred.
  • Desired start date in June 2024.

Background Screening
