Job Summary 

A laboratory technician position is available in the Biomaterials & Regenerative Medicine Laboratory in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health Systems of Drexel University.

The researcher will work as a team with a postdoctoral scientist on a highly collaborative and translational project to optimize and validate a novel prognostic biomarker of wound healing using lab-prepared samples and clinical samples collected from patients with chronic diabetic foot ulcers as part of an ongoing national clinical trial. The optimized biomarkers would allow the identification of individuals who are not likely to heal their ulcer when treated with the standard of care, for use in the personalization of treatment and/or the refinement of entry criteria for clinical trials of new treatments.

Essential Functions 

  • Independently conduct 3D cell culture, total RNA extraction and measurement, quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (qRTPCR). Diligently create statistical analysis of results and present as needed to be included in the sponsored research deliverables.
  • Collaborate with other lab members to design and characterize immunomodulatory.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Masters degree or Equivalent   
  • Biomedical Engineering, Biosciences, or related field.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience.

  • Lifting demands 25lbs

Location 

  • University City – Philadelphia, PA  

Additional Information 

This position is classified as exempt grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $41,120 - $61,680. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
