Research Lab Technician II

The Department of Neurosurgery is seeking an experienced biological technician to join the Tran group. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in conducting biomedical research experiments. The candidate will perform advanced research projects using models of cancer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science or Art in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or relevant fields with 3+ years of experience.
  • Master’s Degree in biomedical research.
  • For those who are in a Master’s Degree program, evidence of strong research accomplishments is highly desirable.
  • Strong prior experience working with animal models of disease is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in working with computer software, databases, and statistics.
  • Ability to work in team.
  • Effective and professional communication with lab members and with the PI.

The hourly rate range for this position is $24.23 - $26.54. Minimum Education: Associate's degree, Specialized/technical training, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of laboratory equipment and research protocols. Knowledge of computer analysis techniques and ability to provide routine analysis and interpretation of research data.
