Position Summary
This position will contribute to research projects focusing on cancer biology questions with zebrafish. Duties include general laboratory and zebrafish maintenance, ordering reagents and consumables, and assisting with training other personnel who utilize the zebrafish facility.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain zebrafish facility; record keeping, feeding schedules, general upkeep.
  • Zebrafish breeding.
  • Assist with molecular biology and physiology experiments utilizing zebrafish.
  • Data analysis with input from PI.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.


Preferred Qualifications

    • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
    • Ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports.
    • Working knowledge of computer software and general lab equipment.
    • Ability to work on several projects in parallel and associated good time-management skills.   
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills to work closely with the Principal Investigator and other laboratory researchers.


    Required Qualifications


    Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a laboratory or research setting equaling 4 years may substitute for this requirement.

    Salary Range
    $16.59 - $25.92 / Hourly

    The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
