Position Summary
Assists with the technical aspects of computational and theoretical chemistry studies, including preparing computations, analysis programs, and presentations.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Sets up and performs routine experiments through computational modeling. Preparation of computation inputs for theoretical chemistry research studies.
  • Preparation of analysis programs. Collects data from experiment and performs data analysis.
  • Preparation of presentation of data and findings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.​
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with research staff and investigators.
  • Ability to maintain complete and organized data/presentations.
  • Working knowledge of Unix shell, Python programming, and computational and theoretical physical chemistry.
  • Ability to work on several projects in parallel and associated good time management skills.


Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a laboratory or research setting equaling four years may substitute for this requirement.

Salary Range
$16.59 - $25.92 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
