Responsibilities*

Leading experimental research (design, execution, data collection and processing), statistical analysis, presentation of data to the PI and team members.  Developing new skills when required and seeking out experts.

Administrative work including orders, EHS, lab maintenance, etc. in coordination with the team members.

Train members in laboratory techniques and reviews results.  Manages animal colony and perform surgeries.

Co-writing of manuscripts and proof-reading.


Required Qualifications*

Applicant must have a Masters or Doctorate degree in the field of Biology or Neurosciences and at least 2 years of experience in a research lab setting.  Candidate must have had prior research or
training in neuroscience, experience with animal work (surgeries, breeding, microsurgeries, necropsy), tissue processing, immunohistochemistry/fluorescence, in situ hybridization, tissue clearing, calcium imaging, electrophysiology and confocal imaging.  Must be a team player, flexible, positive, respectful as well as willingness to learn new techniques.  Candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to rapidly learn new techniques by seeking out expertise of others and build collaboration. Candidate must be able to show they practice an open communication with team members and the PI and can be flexible.  Excellent attendance record.


Desired Qualifications*

Previous knowledge and experience with U of M policies and procedures.  Previous experience in single cell sequencing and bioinformatic analysis of data.

Additional Information

This is a one-year term limited appointment, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and continued available funding.
