The Research Finance Analyst I process a wide variety of post award management tasks while adhering to best practices, providing outstanding customer service to co-workers, and the research community, as well as facilitating the research administration effort within DFCI.The Research Finance Analyst I is an entry-level professional; uses general business concepts for problem solving and works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making.?? The Research Finance Analyst I take on a less complex financial portfolio of grants.

- Responsible for setting up project awards and amend projects as needed.
- Manages the financial administration of less complex research portfolio throughout grant life cycle of Non-federal and Federally grants.
- Approves incoming subcontract invoices for payment.
- Ensures that awards are managed in full compliance with applicable sponsor???s rules and regulations and DFCI???s internal policies.
- Responsible for closing-out of projects, including journal entries and reconciliation.
- Responsible for financial reporting and invoicing to sponsors.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor???s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or similar required.
Minimum Experience (years/type):
- A minimum of 1-year professional experience in Finance, Business or Accounting. This may include directly relevant internships.
- Experience in research administration in an academic setting (hospital, non-profit organization or university) preferred.
