Summary

We are seeking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to assist with a project in Dr. Liz Duval's research lab in the Department of Psychiatry. This project will investigate hippocampal-dependent learning and memory processes associated with childhood adversity and opioid use disorder. 


Responsibilities*

Project Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Run behavioral, physiological (skin conductance), and neuroimaging (MRI) experiments in humans. 
  • Process and analyze physiological and neuroimaging data. 
  • Train research assistants, students and other research staff in research methods and analysis. 
  • Literature searches, manuscript writing, and presentation of results.
  • Writing proposals and grants. 

Required Qualifications*
  • Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field. 

Desired Qualifications*
  • An understanding of medical terminology, experience in a large complex health care setting, ability to effectively communicate with staff and faculty of all levels, and knowledge of university policies and procedures is desirable. 
  • Experience using E-Prime to develop and administer tasks to assess cognitive and emotional processes. 
  • Experience collecting, processing, and analyzing MRI and physiological data. 
  • Experience working with clinical populations, especially individuals with trauma and substance use disorders. 
  • Experience training students on study procedures. 
  • Track record of research productivity (e.g. publications in scientific journals). 

Work Schedule

Flexible 40 hours per week within the following: 8 AM to 7 PM Monday through Friday. Occasional weekends. Must be physically on-site at least three days per week.
