Job Summary
FMC Fellows are expected to conduct original research of exceptionally high quality and to participate in and contribute to the academic environment at University of Chicago.
The position begins during the summer of 2023 and will be for one year employment, depending on whether the Fellow accepts a full-time faculty position at a university.
Responsibilities
- As an integral part of the finance group at Chicago Booth, the FMC Research Fellow is expected to pursue independent research in the field of finance, broadly defined.
- The specific area of study will reflect the research interests of the candidate.
- Organizes academic conferences, hosts acclaimed scholars, and engages with the rich intellectual life of the University of Chicago.
- Disseminates work and interacts with the research community through workshops, academic seminars, and conference talks.
- Engages in the intellectual environment of the University of Chicago through workshops, presentations, seminars, and collaboration with faculty and other researchers.
- Guides data collection, evaluation and analysis. Designs and manages databases. Writes reports, articles and manuscripts.
- Presents research findings at meetings and conferences, as well as to funding agencies. Conducts literature reviews. Develop and maintain liaisons and effective working relations with groups and individuals, agencies, and the public to encourage cooperative management strategies or to develop information and interpret findings.
- Performs other related work as needed.
