Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in Engineering or a related field of science and three years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements.  The university offers market competitive salary and benefits.  Grade EG Salary Minimum $48.421

Preferred Qualifications

At least three years of experience in the research area of glancing angle deposition (GLAD) for the creation of novel self-assembled nano-structures. We are seeking an independent, dedicated, hard-working individual with an appropriate background in novel self-assembled nano-structures using glancing angle deposition. The ideal candidate should have a proven research track record in this area supported by successful peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

A PhD in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred.

Position Description

KY Multiscale at the University of Louisville Speed School of Engineering is seeking a Research Scientist/Engineer I to perform nationally competitive research in the area of glancing angle deposition (GLAD) for the creation of novel self-assembled nano-structures.  The research will involve design, modeling, nano-fabrication, characterization, and testing of GLAD nano-structures and their applications to address challenges in the areas of biology, healthcare, optics, semiconductors, defense, and sensing.  This is a term appointment with a fixed end date tied to its funding source.
