OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to support the education and research groups within the Research, Education, and Training (RET) team by contributing significantly to program operations. Will work with the Economics Department, Office of Open Learning, and other MIT offices on the smooth operation of the education program, including course delivery, coordination of teaching assistants, and other program support; and communicate with students about the program by responding to inquiries, providing technical assistance on applications, reviewing aid requests according to established criteria, and coordinating with senior staff on more complicated decisions.  Will also manage the registry help desk; respond to questions and comments from registry users; manage weekly tasks of the registry developer; make updates to the website to communicate new tools, resources, and processes to website users; draft and submit annual reports to the AEA; and collect registry user data and keep internal reports up-to-date.


Job Requirements
REQUIRED:  a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative, office, or related experience; attention to detail; ability to work on projects independently yet accept supervision; ability to handle several different projects/tasks at one time, successfully complete assigned tasks, and meet deadlines; self-motivation; willingness to learn and to pitch-in as needed; and comfort learning computer applications.  PREFERRED: a bachelor’s degree and some study of economics or other social sciences, and web design and HTML experience.  Job #21303-5
