Description of Work:


The Research Data Specialist will provide technical and research assistance and data coordination to several grant-funded projects located within the Center on Children, Families & the Law (CCFL). The Research Data Specialist will serve as the project lead on the secure storage, linking, analysis, and maintenance of complex agency administrative datasets that are shared with CCFL for the purposes of our research and evaluation projects. Datasets will consist of extracts from child welfare and mental health agency case management systems, as well as agency human resources (personnel) data, both requiring a high level of data security. In addition, the Research Data Specialist will be expected to contribute to the activities of the team in areas including: conceptualize research and evaluation designs; collect primary data for projects using a variety of methods including surveys, interviews, and focus groups; manage and utilize child welfare agency administrative datasets; design, create and maintain databases; conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of data; interpret, visualize, and disseminate project results. Assist project team in the preparation and delivery of oral presentations and written reports about project findings for external stakeholder groups and funders.

Minimum Required Qualifications:


Master's degree in psychology, sociology, child development, education, social work, data science, other social or behavioral science, or a related field and 2 years applied research or program evaluation experience. Knowledge and skills in applied research methodology and program evaluation. Experience using statistical analysis packages such as SPSS, R, Stata, MaxQDA, InVivo. Experience managing human services agency administrative datasets. 

Preferred Qualifications:


Experience working in or with child welfare agencies doing research or program evaluation tasks. Experience manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting child welfare agency administrative datasets (including variables such as case practice and child and family outcomes). Experience manipulating, analyzing, and interpreting agency HR administrative datasets (such as employee demographic, vacancy, and retention data). Experience conducting and interpreting advanced statistical analyses. Experience developing and implementing surveys using Qualtrics. Experience developing and implementing evaluation measures. Experience working with diverse groups and collaborating with external stakeholders. Experience developing data visualizations using Tableau or similar programs.

Posted Salary: $52,000 yr/minimum
