What You'll Do

Description of Responsibilities for the Research Data Assistant:

Community-Engaged Learning:Actively engage with community-engaged learning programs to understand project requirements and research objectives.

Database Software Collaboratory: Manage a public relational software database Collaboratory platform, fostering seamless information sharing.

Data Collection and Maintenance: Design and implement systems to streamline the collection of engaged research data in the University, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with ethical standards. Standardize best practices regarding data hygiene, archiving, and system maintenance.

Data Analysis and Reporting:Perform data analysis generating comprehensive reports to provide insights into research findings. Present findings in a clear and accessible manner.

Preferred Qualifications for the Research Data Assistant:

A successful candidate will have the ability to work in a highly collaborative team setting with enthusiasm and creativity. Preference will be given to applicants with a proven and diverse background in data systems and who are seeking a long-term relationship with the Office of Community-Engaged Learning.

The successful applicant will possess the following skills, characteristics and aptitudes: 

  • Demonstrated proficiency using data systems and data visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Canva), and/or the ability to quickly learn related software systems;
  • A proven background in community/civic engagement and interaction with members of the community;
  • A self-starter with strong written and communication skills;
  • A significant level of maturity, self-sufficiency, and follow-through;
  • And the ability to prioritize and multi-task on a variety of projects and assignments.

  • 15-20 hours per week, between the hours of 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
