Job Summary:

The Research Program Coordinator will coordinate the daily research activities and subcontracts for the Merten lab, home to multiple NIH-funded grants on cognitive and sensory aging. The Research Program Coordinator will assist with administrative activities related to grant proposals, management, and compliance including budgets, biosketches, publications, progress reports and requests for data sharing. The Program Coordinator will plan, develop, and implement processes and protocols to support the research aims of ongoing studies by managing study IRB protocols, tracking study equipment, and coordinating satellite clinics. They will be involved in managing the Merten lab's biorepository as well as serve as a freezer alarm contact person. They will assist in development of training materials, schedule coordination, and implementation of training for field and recruitment staff. Additionally, the Research Coordinator will assist in the management of staff, such as hiring and onboarding, schedules, and approval of time sheets and leave. They will be involved in the Merten lab's research promotion and recruitment; they will manage and contribute to the writing and sending study participant newsletters, the study website and social media accounts.


Responsibilities:
Plans and coordinates the administrative, operational, outreach and promotional activities related to research studies that may be collaborative and independent. Serves as a subject matter expert.
  • 50% Coordinates the daily activities and contracts related to one or more research program(s)
  • 15% Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program developments and information
  • 25% Plans, develops, and implements processes and protocols to support research aims
  • 5% Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives
  • 5% Monitors program budget(s) and approves unit expenditures

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience managing/coordinating a research program
- Previous relevant experience coordinating NIH funded research programs
- Experience managing programs or projects that involved detail-oriented, methodical, process-driven work
- Demonstrated strong management skills
- Experience in human subjects research
- Experience in clinical research setting
- Knowledge of clinical health research principles and regulation
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% - 100%
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $60,000 ANNUAL (12 months)

The starting salary for the position is $60,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
