Position Summary

Responsible for overall direction of daily operations of a large laboratory that includes multiple research initiatives. Provide expertise related to the implementation, execution, and control of research studies; coordination of the processing and analysis of data, supervision of the conduct of experimental data collection procedures and tests; development of new/revised data collection and organization procedures and training personnel in them.
Responsible for working with PI in future planning of laboratory direction and organization. Responsible for helping with job descriptions and searches for new laboratory personnel.
Oversight of non-faculty laboratory personnel, in collaboration with PI. Maintain compliance with various internal and external regulatory agencies; identifies materials needed to be purchased and reviews laboratory expenditures. Participates in overall laboratory budget setting and reconciliation.
Communicates with internal and external collaborators on ongoing experiments and future plans. Writes and reviews experimental protocols, IRB communications and applications.

Required Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge needed to execute and/or provide oversight and training of the following human laboratory procedures: phone screening, informed consent, blood draws, research neuroimaging and neuro-stimulation, research grade neuropsychological testing, saliva collection, and other common procedures.
Familiarity with the laboratory’s computer programs for data entry, data sharing, questionnaire creation, and study packet design.
Knowledge needed for safety training new personnel in the laboratory.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively with PI and other laboratory staff, including delegating duties, to help coordinate diverse research projects and participants across multiple staff members.
Ability to focus on specific research projects and maintain close communication with other project members within the lab, within the university, and with outside collaborators.
