Job Overview

The Research Coordinator supports the participation of women in the MWCCS/WIHS in duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates and provides administrative support for MWCCS/WIHS research studies
  • Assists in the recruitment and screening of study participants.
  • Provides and facilitates appropriate verbal and written communication with study participants. Maintains appropriate study documentation.
  • Serves as the first contact for study participants of the MWCCS/WIHS study. 
  • Provides recruitment, retention, and outreach services for participants to facilitate their continued participation in long-term health studies and related sub-studies. 
  • Maintains study documents preservation.
  • Assists and/or participates in retention activities and Community Advisory Board meetings. Maintains work-related certifications as needed.
  • Assigned other duties, dependent on skills related to the duties

Work Interactions

The Research Coordinator reports to the WIHS Project Director, and collaborates with other research assistants, the medical team and the data team including the Data Manager, the Project Coordinator and the Principal Investigators. They schedule participant visits in coordination with the clinical team; coordinate data entry and edits with the data team; and gains approvals from the Division Administrator when assisting the Project Coordinator with participant incentives payments and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree - preferably in health or related field
  • 1 to 3 years of practical experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and detail-orientation
  • Analytical background, strong verbal and written communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in the team

Preferred qualifications

  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish
  • Knowledge of research methods
