Summary of Duties:

The IMPACT Lab Research Coordinator contributes to and coordinates research activities for the IMPACT Research Lab at Washington State University. The IMPACT Lab Research Coordinator:

1) The majority of the research coordinator’s work involves contributing to all phases of the IMPACT lab’s scientific projects, including identifying research questions, writing and editing grant proposals, writing and editing scholarly papers, producing technical reports and scholarly presentations, producing research reports for lay audiences, designing and executing specific phases of research projects, and participating in and contributing to planning meetings with funders;

2) Supervises participation of graduate and undergraduate students in the lab’s research activities; and

3) Coordinates operation of grant projects, including IRB preparation, deliverable tracking, reporting to funders, and budget monitoring.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral science, business or economics discipline and three (3) years of progressively responsible related professional research experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Additional Requirements

Bachelor’s degree must be in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Prevention Science, Implementation Science, Human Development, or closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Prevention Science, Implementation Science, Human Development, or closely related fields of study.

  • Content knowledge and professional experience in prevention science or public health Experience with grant writing and scholarly writing.

  • Experience coordinating grant activities Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent organizational skills.

  • Experience with public speaking and presentations.

  • Experience training and/or supervising others in executing grant operations Experience with qualitative and quantitative evaluation methodologies.

  • Skills and experience related to development and maintenance of collaborative working relationships.
