Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Student Personnel Service, Computer Science, or related field and two years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. Grade 4 (Hourly)

Position Description:

This position reports to the Conflict of Interest Analyst. The position's primary role is to support the operations of the Conflict of Interest and Commitment Office to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Conflict of Interest Analyst with review and clearance of sponsored programs proposals and just in time submissions for compliance with UofL policy and federal COIC regulations
  • Assist Conflict of Interest Analyst with the creation of COIC educational tip sheets, brochures, and presentations; Conduct basic policy research and searches for developments, articles, and policy initiatives relating to "conflicts of interest and commitment" and all topics included in that term.
  • Assist Conflict of Interest Analyst with addressing disclosure system issues and assign disclosure access, as needed.
  • Respond to requests and inquiries concerning individual conflicts of interest in collaboration with COI analyst and the Director.
  • Assist to organize and facilitate the monthly Conflict Review Board meetings, including note taking.
  • Assist Senior Director, Research Ethics and Compliance Office with monthly sanction checks of affiliated researchers and communication, compliance reviews associated with Responsible.
  • Conduct of Research training requirements and processes associated with Researcher Offboarding.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

May require occasional travel between university buildings to meet with others, collect evidence, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the biomedical and life sciences areas,
  • Experience with reading and understanding legal and regulatory documentation,
  • Prior research experience or experience in a research environment, and/or
  • Knowledge of federal regulations on COI.

Target Compensation Maximum: $31.38/hr

Target Compensation Minimum: $20.92/hr

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
