The Imaginnovation Lab, led by Dr. Jinghang Xie in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is recruiting a postdoc Research Associate in Chemistry/Chemical Biology. The Imaginnovation Lab is at the forefront of research in preclinical and clinical imaging techniques. As a part of the team, you will have the opportunity to spearhead the development of intelligent probes for translational imaging of CAR T-cell therapy and vaccination. Dr. Xie's mentorship ensures unwavering support for your career development, including guidance on training grant applications, conference attendance, and opportunities to present your research findings.
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, and highly collaborative candidates with the following qualifications:

  • degree in organic chemistry or a closely related field.

  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques, organic synthesis, product purification and characterization.

  • Experience in developing optical, acoustic, or PET probes with various biological measurements is a plus


Postdoctoral employment is temporary and is normally limited to an individual who has been awarded a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within the previous five years1 and who will be involved in full-time research or scholarship at the University. Employment as a Postdoctoral Research Associate is viewed as training and is preparatory for a full-time academic or research career, is supervised by a senior scholar, and allows the appointee to publish the results of his/her research or scholarship during the training period.
