Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Assists the Principal Investigator in designing protocols and supervising technical staff to complete research projects. Using their extensive research experience, they conduct independent research which may result in scholarly publications and perform technical presentations at scientific meetings. They also complete technical laboratory and/or field experimental procedures and help maintain the laboratory.
Perform scientific techniques, research or experiment protocols.
Design and perform experiments.
Mentor and supervise junior students in technical techniques.
Lab management such as ordering supplies.
Writes methods for the PI to use in a grant or other related papers.
Verbal communication on status with PIs, Post Docs.
Assist the PI in designing protocols.
Supervise technical staff.
Conduct independent research which may result in scholarly publication.
Present at scientific meetings.
Unique Duties
PhD required in Biology or Biological Sciences.
Previous work experience in project management, laboratory information, research or clinic operations required.
Must be able to maintain accurate research records for quality control and study participant data reporting.
Must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must have excellent organizational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
