Essential Functions (Job Duties)
Research Associate position available in the laboratory of established investigators to investigate the biochemistry/molecular biology of dysferlin and its protein binding partners in muscle/inner ear mechanoreceptive systems. The qualified individual would also help prepare scientific manuscripts. Competitive salary and fringe benefits; opportunity for educational and professional advancement.
Additional essential functions may include:
Conduct presentations, lab management.
Unique Duties
Candidate should have demonstrated experience in plasmid expression of cloned cDNA, production and purification of corresponding proteins, quantitative western blots and binding studies of direct/indirect protein-protein interactions, specifically pull-down assays/immunoprecipitation and surface plasmon resonance.
Bachelors degree required.
(minimum 2 years of job-related experience)
Experience performing basic research techniques.
Ability to work independently. Ability to analyze, summarize and interpret research findings in reports and communicate results. Knowledge of scientific integrity principles. Excellent time management and organization skills. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with others in a collaborative environment. Microsoft office software skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in a related field of study preferred.
