The Department of Cell Biology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, seeks an Assistant Professor of Research to work in the laboratories of Drs. Christine and Bernard Thisse, to study mechanisms of left-right body axis formation.  This will be a tenure ineligible position. Successful applicants will have working knowledge and experience with zebrafish as a model system. Past experience working in the area of embryonic axis formation will be considered a plus. Demonstrated expertise in cell and molecular biology, including genetic and genomic approaches and cell and embryo imaging are required. The role of the person holding this position will also include supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, advising technicians, as well as the writing of manuscripts and grants.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a PhD degree plus at least five years of post-doctoral training in developmental biology, and demonstrate a relevant publication record in top ranked journals and participation in national/international scientific conferences.
