Dr. Frances Champagne is hiring a Research Associate for a fixed-term position. This would be a one-year position to start with the opportunity to renew annually based on mutual agreement. Research in the Champagne Lab explores the developmental plasticity that occurs in response to environmental experiences. We are interested in the impact of early life experiences on behavior, neural systems, and the epigenetic variation that allows these effects to persist within and across generations.

Purpose
The research responsibilities include preparation of biosamples (human and animal) for downstream analyses, bioinfomatic analyses of large transcriptome and epigenome data sets, leading and supervising research projects, creating methods to translate between human and animal studies of development, and preparing manuscripts for publication.
Responsibilities
- Lab work involving DNA/RNA extraction and other endocrine and molecular methods
- Bioinformatic processing of genome-wide molecular datasets
- Supervising trainees
- Data analyses
- Manuscript preparation and publication
Required Qualifications
PhD in neuroscience, psychology, molecular biology or a related field. A minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral research experience. Expertise and demonstrated skills in DNA/RNA extractions using Kingfisher Flex System. Experience preparing DNA/RNA samples for sequencing and DNA methylation arrays Expertise and experience in analyses and bioinfomatic processing of Illumina Epic Arrays Expertise in machine learning and application to animal behavior. Expertise in R programing.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Python. Expertise and experience with animal neuroscience and human biosocial studies. Publications in human and animal studies. Experience in supervising trainees.
Salary Range
$60,000- $65,000
