POSITION SUMMARY:
The Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine, Lei Wang laboratory, is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and creative individual with expertise in both the theoretical and practical aspects of rodent models, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology. The Wang Laboratory in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology is currently accepting applications for research associates interested in exploring the molecular mechanisms of ischemia-reperfusion in graft dysfunction and kidney diseases. The primary goal is to identify potential therapeutic targets that can enhance renal function and contribute to long-term graft survival after organ transplantation. Our research involves the use of transgenic rodent models, rodent and preclinical animal organ transplantation models (pigs), and a diverse range of techniques, including single-cell RNA sequencing, real-time PCR, reporter assays, immunoblotting, IHC/ICC, cell cultures, and big data analysis of human specimens.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
Master's degree from an accredited institution with demonstrated record of academic research achievement, or professional qualifications in the field of specialization above those which would be equivalent to the highest degree.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Research Associate.
PREFERRED:
We are seeking an individual with a PhD who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and creative individual with expertise in both the theoretical and practical aspects of rodent models, molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology.
