POSITION SUMMARY:
The successful candidate will investigate cellular and molecular mechanisms of nerve repair and nociception using transgenic mouse models and primary rodent cultures.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the PI, the Research Associate will lead a research project that focuses on nerve injury-induced regenerative response and neuropathic pain. The Research Associate will participate in experimental design, data generation, interpretation and evaluation, and communication of results. They will also be expected to develop manuscript and grant writing skills and participate in seminars, lectures, poster sessions, and presentations at national or international conferences. The Research Associate may be required to train and supervise junior lab members, develop new methodologies and protocols for research, and intellectually or experimentally contribute to other projects in the lab. The Research Associate will also be expected to take responsibility for a wide range of research activities to foster their growth into an independent investigator.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
 

• Master's degree from an accredited institution with demonstrated record of academic research achievement, or professional qualifications in the field of specialization above those which would be equivalent to the highest degree.
• Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Research Associate.

PREFERRED:
 

• Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, or similar fields from an accredited institution and at least five years of postdoctoral research experience in experimental neurobiology. Demonstrated record of academic research achievement or professional qualifications in the field specified field.
