Position Summary
This purpose of this position is to develop and conduct experimental methodologies to investigate the mechanisms of environment-associated allergic and inflammatory diseases. The responsibilites will include developing and characterizing mouse models of environment-associated allergic and inflammatory diseases, developing multiparameter flow cytometric analyses for phenotyping immune responses to environmental agents, developing in vitro cell culture models for assessing the biological effects of pollutants and other environmental agents.
Educational Requirements
M.S. and/or Ph.D. with experience in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Computational Biology or related field.
Qualifications and Experience
The individual have expertise with mouse models of inhalational exposure to environmental agents (e.g., household dust, allergens, microbial products, air pollutants. The individual must have expertise with culturing primary human bronchial epithelial cells, primary murine leukocytes (lymphocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells), and human and rodent cell lines. The individual must also have expertise with multiparameter flow cytometry, functional and phenotypic assessment of innate and adaptive immune responses, generting figures and tables for publication, and writing scientific manuscripts. Experience in Higher Education of University setting highly desired. The individual must also have strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work on multiple projects.
