Job Description


We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate to join our dynamic team in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and computer vision (CV). The successful candidate will work closely with our research team to develop innovative solutions, contribute to cutting-edge research projects, and advance the state-of-the-art in AI, ML, and CV technologies. This position offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and collaboration in a stimulating research environment.


  • Work with research group in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and computer vision (CV).
  • Work closely with research team to develop innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to cutting-edge research projects.
  • Advance the state-of-the-art in AI, ML, and CV technologies.
  • Utilize high-performance computing resources (e.g, GPUs).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Two years of related experience

What is helpful:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with a focus on artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, or a closely related area.
  • Experience in Python, Pytorch, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision
  • Experience in frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or OpenCV.
  • Experience with image processing, feature extraction, object detection, segmentation, and recognition algorithms.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong background in statistical analysis, linear algebra, optimization, and probability theory.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C/C++.
  • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning techniques, including deep learning.
  • Familiarity with software development practices, version control systems (e.g., Git), and collaborative tools (e.g., Jupyter Notebooks, Docker).

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Texas A&M University leads advanced research in several important national and global areas for the betterment of humanity.
