Job Overview

Provide research and project support to the Earth Commons and the Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching & Service (CSJ). Working with faculty, staff, and students, this position will support projects related to the environment, sustainability, and immersion. Efforts will include supporting research on best practices in sustainability and environmental justice in an immersion context. This may include conducting an environmental impact audit of existing CSJ immersions, making recommendations for sustainable immersion program design, and designing educational materials about environmental justice for immersion participants. This position would also contribute to the structure/design of future immersive learning for Earth Commons through their placement at CSJ, where they will learn immersion pedagogy by supporting existing CSJ immersions.

Work Interactions

Reporting to the Earth Commons Chief of Staff, this position will be a resource for research in developing programs across the Earth Commons and the Center for Social Justice, with an emphasis on immersion programs. Efforts will be cross-cutting blending work in the Arts, Sciences, and Educational spaces to further the development of the Earth Commons and partner organizations on campus.

This position has been designated as Hybrid 4 Days. Requirements and Qualifications

  • BA/BS

  • This is a post-bacc position for recent graduates

  • Strong writing and communications skills

  • Technical research skills in issues of environment and sustainability
