The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is seeking a Research Associate position immediately. This is a grant funded, full-time, exempt position with benefits. UMES is located in rural Maryland and is one of America’s most beautiful campuses.

Responsibilities

Contributes to the research activities, including designing and performing experiments, analyzing data, and summarizing research results for publication, under the supervision of a Pharmaceutical Sciences faculty member in the Cancer Pharmacology Lab. Additional responsibilities, including supervising and assisting graduate students as they conduct experiments (in pharmacology, pharmaceutics, and/or medicinal chemistry), and ensuring compliance with all safety procedures in accordance with University policy, and performing other related duties as assigned. Teaching opportunities may be available in the Pharmacy program and/or Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate program at UMES.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. or M.D. with expertise in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cancer Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or Pharmacology.

Preferred Qualifications

Special techniques such as mammalian cell culture, DNA/RNA isolation, quantitative PCR/RT-PCR, protein extraction, Western Blot, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescent assays, chromatin IP, protein-protein interaction, genomics/bioinformatics, in-vivo animal models, etc.
