We are looking for a Research Assistant, to join our pioneering College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science! This position is crucial for performing mouse husbandry, genotyping, animal experiments, tissue dissections/processing, and primary cell culture studies. Their responsibilities also include participating in various experiments using a wide range of techniques to investigate neuroinflammation, mechanisms underlying cell injury related to demyelinating diseases. Required Education:

  • Appropriate Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in neuroscience, biology, genetics, biochemistry or other closely related field.

  • 1-3 years of research lab experience, mouse handling experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Research - Perform mouse husbandry, genotyping, animal experiments, tissue dissections/processing, and primary cell culture preparations. Participate in various experiments using a wide range of lab techniques to investigate neuroinflammation and mechanisms underlying cell injury relevant to demyelinating and neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease). Conduct bench experiments and acquire and analyze data. Report and present research results.

  • Lab Management - General lab management, book-keeping, ordering and receiving, sample preparation, and obtaining original research results.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
