Job Summary
The Plasma Physics Group (PI: Matthew Goeckner) at UT Dallas invites applications for a research associate position. We seek an innovative scholar with a PhD in experimental low temperature plasma physics and Machine Learning. Position will focus on the experimental plasma measurements analyzed using Machine Learning Techniques. Technical work, such as equipment maintenance and repair, as well as managing laboratory and personnel safety operations, should be expected. The research associate will have ample opportunity to apply for independent funding, travel to scientific conferences, and network with other academics. S/he will also be responsible for technical publication and proposal writing. Candidates should have strong background and substantial research experience on low temperature plasma physics with expertise on some of the following areas: Plasma diagnostic development, Vacuum system construction and operation, control of radio frequency power and signals.
Minimum Education and Experience

Ph.D in a related field.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • PhD in physics or closely related field.
  • Previous studies of low temperature plasma systems.
  • Previous use of Machine Learning to analyze experimental results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Machine Learning studies of Low Temperature plasma systems.
  • Conduct independent research in characterization & measurements of various plasma system.
  • Organize and prepare required reports for research operations and sponsored projects.
  • Responsible for routine operations, including equipment maintenance, safety training, chemical and purchase inventory.
  • Participate in manuscript writing and preparation, conference presentations and posters, and proposal writing.
