The Department of Engineering Systems and Environment at the University of Virginia invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position with experience in model-based systems engineering, cyber-security, machine learning, or computer science. The successful candidate will work on cyber-security and resilient systems research projects sponsored by the Department of Defense.
The selected candidate will be required to work independently on projects and produce results that can be published in top systems-engineering and cyber-security journals. Duties for this position include: scoping aspects of the project, interacting with sponsors, developing new methodologies for improving the resiliency of cyber-physical systems, conducting relevant experiments, and documenting results. The candidate must have excellent written and oral-presentation skills.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: A PhD in systems engineering, computer science, or related field is required by the start date. Candidates must have experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Java, C++). Experience with model-based systems engineering programs (e.g. SysML) Is desired. Preference will be given to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
