Description of Work Unit
The Department of Soil and Crop Sciences mission is focused on education, research, and outreach to contribute to solving the state, national, regional and global food production challenges issues and soil ecosystems services. Our faculty and staff apply research-based solutions to benefit Colorado and the world. We offer academic programs to prepare students to address national and global crop production, sustainability, and environmental quality challenges such as waste management, water quality, soil health, and reclamation of drastically disturbed lands. There are numerous opportunities for students to be involved in cutting edge research related to food production and ecosystem services and land protection.

Position Summary
The department accepts applications on an ongoing basis from individuals who are interested in obtaining research positions within the department. The open position may be a temporary, special, or regular Research Associate (Level III or IV) assignment and may be for limited time periods. This is an open pool, and applications will be forwarded to open positions as they become available. PhD level positions will be advertised separately.
Required Job Qualifications
  • Level III is for individuals with a Research Associate II appointment or, Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of experience or a Master’s degree with 2 years of experience or PhD. 
  • Level IV is for individuals with a Research Associate III appointment or, Bachelors degree and at least 10 years of work-related experience, or a Masters degree with at least 5 years of experience or PhD + 2 years experience.


Successful candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States by time of application; Soil and Crop Sciences will not provide visa sponsorship for these positions.
