Description

Join our dynamic team in the Interventional Radiology section of the Department of Radiological Sciences as a Research Associate. You’ll play a crucial role in conducting laboratory procedures, assisting with animal surgeries and experiments, preparing regulatory documentation, and collecting/evaluating data. Collaborate with faculty, contribute creative ideas, and assist in proposal development. Engage in scientific bench research experiments utilizing UCLA Core Facilities. Troubleshoot procedures, analyze results, and contribute to manuscript preparation. Responsibilities: * Conduct scientific bench research experiments, troubleshoot procedures, and analyze results * Collaborate on research proposal development and assist in grant applications and manuscript editing * Develop collaborations with other labs and leverage resources for successful research projects * Perform various lab/office duties and contribute creative ideas to protocols and experiments * Collaborate with Principal Investigators in the preparation/submission of research protocols * Maintain laboratory operations, conduct literature searches, and organize lab meetings * Assist in animal studies, coordinate surgeries, and monitor animal welfare The ideal candidate would have wet lab skills including experience with cell culture, flow cytometry, Western blots, ELISA, or related lab techniques, a background in immunology or any engineering discipline. Additionally, the ideal candidate would have experience working with in-vivo murine or large animal models, and managing IRB protocols or animal protocols. Qualifications

Required: * Bachelors or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. * Demonstrates ability to organize, initiate and work independently to address responsibilities; must have strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks. * Skill in setting priorities to complete work to meet deadlines. * Excellent analytical skills with ability to review detailed work. * Working knowledge of scientific terminology and procedural formatting to prepare and edit research protocols, standard operating procedures and correspondence with speed and accuracy and using correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
