Description of Work Unit
Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The CEE Department at CSU is recognized both nationally and internationally for its education, research, and service and outreach programs, and is ranked in the top 40 of such programs in the USA. The CEE Department consists of 36 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 16 research scientists/scholars, 27 research associates, and 11 administrative professionals. Position Summary
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Colorado State University (CSU) is seeking an experienced biological or environmental scientist/engineer to support bioenergy projects. This includes the knowledge and use of biochemical methane potential tests, chemical oxygen demand tests, gas chromatography and Excel.
This is a 9-month long, part time (10-40 hours per week) position at CSU Fort Collins, CO. Should funding allow, this position may be eligible for extension beyond the 9-month timeline, contingent on successful execution of project deliverables and performance evaluation.
Required Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry or closely related degree.
  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in the following areas:
    • Independent management of biological and chemical experiments
    • Biochemical methane potential tests
    • Total and volatile solids tests
    • Colorimetric test kits
    • Chemical oxygen demand tests
    • Gas chromatography
    • Microsoft Excel
