As a Research Associate I, under minimal supervision, you will use fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization to perform complex scientific research.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform lab procedures and experiments with minimal/limited supervision.
  • Manage and operate lab equipment.
  • Manage a large number of biospecimens and honor regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data, develop methodologies, and evaluate lab procedures.
  • Retrieve information from library and computerized databases; assist in preparing manuscripts and presentations.
  • Ability to refer to published scientific journals and adopt published techniques (Introduce new techniques in lab.)
  • Regularly update intellectual skills through regular scientific journal reading.
  • Maintain supplies, negotiate with vendors, and track purchase orders.
  • Maintain equipment and perform/supervise repairs/services when required.
  • Establishing an example and benchmark of work ethics and also helps promote a positive and productive lab environment.
  • Adopt strategic lab management skills in building a stronger team.
  • Manage regular lab activity, manage lab personnel’s regulatory requirements and work with PI in fulfilling regulatory document preparation.
  • Ensure rigor of research.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities

Knowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.
Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.

Preferred Schedule:
Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs.

Position Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.
Minimum Education: Master’s degree

Minimum Experience: 1+ years research experience in Cancer Research lab or relevant field of biological sciences.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Experience: Academic or industry R&D Research experience involving prostate cancer research, clinical research handling large-scale biospecimens would be given the highest priority. Working experience in team research setup and experience as a team leader would be given high value.

Certification: Human and other resource Management certification would be valued but not essential.
