Description of Work Unit
The Analytical Resources Core (ARC) is an institutional core facility at CSU. The Bioanalysis and Omics (BIO) Core is a center within ARC. The mission of the ARC-BIO is to serve as an enabling resource for research and development programs at Colorado State University. We strive to build instrumental capabilities and expertise that exceed the normal resources of individual research programs, and make those technologies available as a shared resource. We also aim to provide an environment rich in expertise and educational resources, and to foster collaboration across the CSU community and beyond.  
Position Summary
The RA will contribute to essential laboratory operations of ARC-BIO, contributing to sample receipt and organization, sample preparation, customer communication, data acquisition, analysis, and management, operation and/or maintenance of mass spectrometers housed at ARC-BIO, record keeping, and reporting.  
Required Job Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in a related field such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Informatics, Statistics, or another relevant field.
  • Demonstrated written and/or oral communications experience.
  • 1 year of relevant laboratory experience.
Preferred Job Qualifications
RA I:  The ideal candidate will have at least one year of demonstrated laboratory experience in mass spectrometry, gas and/or liquid chromatography, protein and/or metabolite extraction, derivatization, informatics, and/or protein digestion.
RA II: The ideal candidate will have at least three years of demonstrated laboratory experience in mass spectrometry, gas and/or liquid chromatography, protein and/or metabolite extraction, derivatization, informatics, and/or protein digestion.  Relevant experience obtained while attaining a master’s degree will count toward the three-year requirement.
RA III: The ideal candidate will have at least six years of demonstrated laboratory experience in mass spectrometry, gas and/or liquid chromatography, protein and/or metabolite extraction, derivatization, informatics, and/or protein digestion.  Relevant experience obtained while attaining a master’s and doctorate degree will count toward the six-year requirement.
