Research Associate I-Human Genetics

Updated: over 1 year ago
Location: Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA
Deadline: The position may have been removed or expired!

Responsibilities

The Luo laboratory within the Department of Human Genetics works in the fields of epigenomics and neurodevelopmental disorders. Projects in the lab use epigenomic profiling of primary tissues and disease modeling using in vitro cell culture models.

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and a senior Staff Research Associate, you will be responsible for carrying out cutting-edge single-cell epigenomic assays sn-m3C-seq and snmCT-seq, as well as the preparation of single-cell DNA methylation and multi-omic libraries for high-throughput sequencing using a robotic liquid handler system (Beckman Biomek i7).
You will have the opportunity to learn cutting edge single-cell methods such as snmC-seq2 for methylation profiling, sn-m3C-seq for the joint profiling of methylation and chromatin conformation, and snmCT-seq for the joint profiling of RNA and methylation. You will also be responsible assisting spatial genomics works including the cryo-sectioning of mouse and human tissues, and perform fluorescence-activated nuclei/cell sorting (FANS/FACS) in collaboration with FACS core facilities. You will also manage the inventory of reagents and tissue samples used for single-cell and spatial genomics experiments.
