Position Summary
The Department of Systems Biology is seeking a highly motivated post-baccalaureate Research Associate I to join a cancer research lab in hematological malignancy. Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, or designee, the Research Associate I performs a variety of routine and increasingly complex research experiments.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Performs daily experimental activities and maintains general lab functions.
- Adheres to all laboratory safety protocols.
- Orders and maintains laboratory equipment, reagents and supplies.
- Maintains mouse colonies by genotyping and data entry.
- Conducts animal imaging procedures.
- Perform SDS-PAGE, molecular cloning, bacterial culture and mammalian cell culture works.
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or life sciences.
- 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.
- Have significant interest in cancer research and prior laboratory experience.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skill and a willingness to learn and employ new skills.
- A meticulous attention to details and being competent at working independently.
