Research Associate I - Hematologic Malignancies

Updated: 20 days ago

Join the forefront of groundbreaking research at the Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope , where we're changing lives and making a real difference in the fight against cancer, diabetes, and other life-threatening illnesses. Our dedicated and compassionate faculty and staff are driven by a common mission: Contribute to innovative approaches in predicting, preventing, and curing diseases, shaping the future of medicine through cutting-edge research.

Dr. Danilov’s laboratory investigates epigenetic mechanisms of drug resistance in hematologic malignancies.

Gene dysregulation and altered post-translational control are hallmarks of cancer.  Our research focuses on the role of epigenetic dysregulation of pro-survival pathways, and how this signaling can be targeted. In addition to a variety of in vitro models of the stromal niche, our laboratory models hematologic malignancies in vivo. Dr. Danilov’s research is highly translational and involves work with primary samples from patients with hematologic malignancies. Based on laboratory findings, Dr. Danilov's group originates early-phase clinical trials, allowing for verification of laboratory findings in the clinical setting. The lab also conducts analysis of correlative samples from patients enrolled on clinical trials.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who values teamwork but also aspires to become a project driver.

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Utilize laboratory equipment and established protocols to perform a variety of research experiments. Record and validate results for accuracy and completeness.
  • May modify protocols.
  • Write standard operating procedures and reports.
  • Maintain records of work performed, including results and methodology; utilizing records may calculate, graph, and compile data.
  • Develop techniques and expertise in one or more areas relevant to laboratory research projects.
  • Ensure that all laboratory activities are carried out in compliance with safety procedures and guidelines for handling, storage, and disposal of materials.
