The School of Modeling, Simulation, and Training (SMST) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is looking for an experienced researcher with a Ph.D. who will work both independently and as a member of a team to design, develop, modify, test, document and maintain simulation products. Specific responsibilities include:
RESEARCH ACTIVITIES:
- Lead and assist in preparation of proposals,
- Lead and assist in preparing critical reviews of research literature,
- Develop and execute research project plans,
- Lead and assist data collection activities,
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members,
- Work collaboratively with teammates,
- Participate in the simulation and training research community through conference presentations and publications,
- Lead and assist statistical analyses using software including SPSS and Excel,
- Review and provide feedback on research documents,
- Lead and assist in trade studies,
- Provide guidance towards efficiencies in the research process to team members.
DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
- Apply human factors principles and theory to design,
- Apply modeling and simulation principles and theory to design,
- Apply usability principles and theory to design,
- Apply research results and usability testing to design,
- Review and provide feedback on development documents,
- Lead and assist in prototyping and integration of technology.
PROJECT SUPPORT
- Lead and assist in the preparation of project reporting requirements (e.g., monthly),
- Interface with clients and ensure quality service,
- Actively pursue a business development relationship with new and existing clients,
- Assist with contracting needs to acquire or extend funding opportunities.
