Position Summary

Dr. Sarah N. Douglas in the Department of Human Development and Family Studies seeks a half-time Post-doctoral Research Fellow to support a collaborative IES funded research team in their development and testing an intervention for Speech Language Pathologists and family members to support children who use augmentative and alternative communication. The fellow will support recruitment, data collection, data analysis, presentations, and publications.

Doctorate


Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have an earned doctoral degree in child development, special education, or related field by date of hire.

Exceptions to the above degree requirements will be considered for the following: All But Dissertation (ABD) candidates are encouraged to apply. Must have satisfactory completion of the Ph.D. dissertation defense/orals by date of hire with minimal revisions needed that are expected to be completed within three to six months of start date.

Experience in the area of augmentative and alternative communication and developmental and communication related disabilities is expected. Candidate should also have experience with single case research design, data collection, and supervision of research assistants.


Desired Qualifications

Ideal applicants will also have a strong publication record, effective communication skills, and ability to work as a team.
