The Nightingale lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University invites applications for a Research Associate position. Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a related field, with experience in programming diagnostic ultrasound imaging systems, computer programming, biomechanical modeling, and prior experience in supporting clinical studies. The job will entail supporting all aspects of the research being performed in the Nightingale lab. Responsibilities will include: 1. Developing and testing a rotation position control and custom beam sequences for a muscle shearwave elasticity imaging (SWEI) 2. Implementing numerical simulations of 3DSWEI 3. Obtaining in vivo ultrasound data from subjects undergoing muscle imaging studies 4. Assisting with processing and analysis of the muscle SWEI data 5. Performing acoustic output measurements 6. Providing general assistance and input into other ongoing studies in the Nightingale lab Applicants should submit: a curriculum vitae; names and contact information for three references; and expected date of availability.
