Dr. Amanda-Jensen-Doss, a faculty member in the University of Miami’s Department of Psychology, is seeking a new post-baccalaureate research assistant to support an NIMH-funded research study focused on identifying key indicators of fidelity to measurement-based care, utilizing coding of therapy session recordings and analysis of digital user data from a measurement feedback system. The project is a multiple-PI project conducted in collaboration with Dr. Bryce McLeod at Virginia Commonwealth University. The position has a flexible start date in summer or early fall of 2024. Responsibilities will primarily center on coordinating the coding of study therapy tapes, assisting in database construction, managing undergraduate research assistants, overseeing IRB submissions and updates, and project administrative tasks. Opportunities abound for a talented student with an interest in a research career to enhance their training through additional presentation and publication experiences in our labs. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills, a high degree of motivation and well-developed organizational abilities. The primary work location of this position is on the Coral Gables campus.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as psychology, public health, etc.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Highly organized, analytical and detail oriented with strong planning and writing skills, ability to work independently and think through activities.
  • Ability to manage extremely confidential information and coordinate complex projects.
  • Excellent communication – verbal and written, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a collaborative style.

  • Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Position-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Management of study databases and submission of data to NIMH Data Archive
  • Organize activities of study coding team.
  • Monitor protocol compliance, reporting adverse events as required by institutional/federal regulations.
  • Assist with preparation of protocol revisions and reports to the IRB and National Institutes of Health (NIH).
  • Assist with preparation of annual progress reports for IRB and NIH renewal of ongoing studies.
  • Provide assistance with study budget management.
  • Assist with manuscript and presentation preparation as well as the preparation and submission of grant applications.
