Assists in the development, design, execution, and control of scientific research as related to development of biotechnologies for wound healing and microfluidic-based detection of bacteria. Coordinates the conduct of experiment design, relevant modeling, testing, and validation of protocols, procedures, and organizes data. Keeps updated with literature and prepares literature review summaries. Assists in the preparation of research results for dissemination through publications and presentations.

Master's Level Degree or equivalent educ/exp
#1 Major: Mechanical Engineering #2 Major: Biomedical engineering; Microbiology
Additional Education

Desired: Doctoral Degree
#1 Major: Mechanical Engineering    

Required: Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge to the conduct of engineering research; microfluidic device fabrication (e.g., glass etching and bonding, soft lithography) bacterial cell cultures, optical microscopy, fluorescence-based microscopy techniques, and assembly of engineering systems
Desired: experience with optical spectroscopy (e.g., Infra-red or Raman), machine learning and programming, non-bacterial culture techniques, and electron microscopy.

The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $48,000 to $57,000"
